2024 was hard. Trying to get things fixed around here and just overloaded. He got sick right befor our first excursion on Royal Caribbean. He had to go into the hospital, in a coma, about two weeks before we were supposed to leave. He was in that coma for 4 days, getting blood to combat the anemia he was having, antibiotics, and lots of other stuff. I sat with him, reading “Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs” by Caitlin Doughty, who is a mortician. It’s a book on death for kids and, for some strange reason, it was what I was reading to him…
This year would have been our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. We loved each other so much so we did it three times. First a handfasting. Second with the Justice of the Peace to get the paperwork done, and third, another handfasting, renewal of vows where we could have it in a grove and two of our grandkids could be best man and maid of honor. I was too hot in that dress.
We did so much together over those 32 years. Bought a house, had every one of my 4 kids live here with us, had their babies here. Our oldest grandson, who is going to be 30 this year, stayed with us for awhile recently. The next 2 oldest are within a mile of us. There was always something going here, people in and out, laughter, cooking, and just fun.
